Mainstay Founder and Director Tom McHugh will present a free family concert at the Betterton Community Center, 100 Main Street in Betterton on Sunday February 19 at 2:00 p.m. The concert is sponsored by the Betterton Community Development Committee.
You can bring the whole family when the Mainstay comes to Betterton. Tom McHugh will sing his popular Chesapeake themed songs and bring along his friends Monkey Baby and Penelope to entertain young and old alike. Bass player Tom Anthony and Peter Heck will also make appearances. Refreshments will be available.
The Betterton Community Development Committee is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit dedicated to the historic town of Betterton. They were responsible for restoring the Betterton Ark and participated in the restoration and conversion of the former Most Precious Blood Church into the Betterton Community Center. The BCDC, along with the Town of Betterton recently received a historic preservation award from the Maryland Historical Trust for their work in creating the community center in the historic building.
The Mainstay (Home of Musical Magic) is the friendly informal storefront performing arts center in Rock Hall. Last year the two groups collaborated to present a concert of Irish music at the Betterton Community Center.
