Publisher and Managing Editor: Robin Wood Kurowski is a 10th generation Rock Hall native. She began her work life at Hubbard’s Pier and Seafood on Rock Hall Harbor at age 13. As co-owner of Gratitude Yachting Center, she has come to represent a new kind of water enterprise, one that caters to cruising, boating and fishing.

With a love of photography since school days she actively shoots local events and works part time during holiday season at Creative Focus in Chestertown. Her full time job is as Rock Hall Assistant Town Clerk Treasurer.
Contributing Photographer Michael Wootton. Graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Mass Communications, Michael has been in the Communications industry for over 35 years. His ongoing freelance commercial and editorial photography business includes clients such as Dixon valve, The Sultana Projects Inc., Easter Seals of Delaware , Chester River Hospital Center and his photography can be seen in Chesapeake Bay Magazine, WoodenBoat, Maryland Life, and numerous web site clients. Michael is a founding partner of Chesapeake Bay Internet Associates in 1994, Michael works in the areas of photography, site development and client relations. CBIA currently maintains approximately 100 regional sites.

Tom McHugh has been a teacher all of his life…teenage camp counselor, boarding school house parent, middle and high school teacher, and college professor. With undergraduate and graduate degrees from Temple University and The University of Pennsylvania, (BS,Ed; M.ED. and Ph.D) he started his college teaching career at Washington College, Chestertown Maryland. This little school located in the beautiful setting of the Eastern Shore of Maryland made a lasting impact on Tom. From WC, he moved to Vassar College as Chair of The Department of Education and a member of the American Culture Program faculty. Vassar became his career position, and he retired in the early nineties as a full professor. He moved back to Rock Hall, Kent County Maryland to raise his two girls in the Eastern Shore setting. In 1997, Tom founded The Mainstay as a community center for the arts. As they say, “the rest is history”…over 450 concerts , art shows, and community gatherings, national level performers, a venue for local talent, a support for local schools and children, and much more.
Contributing Writer Larry Simns is a life long Rock Hall resident, watermen and President of the Maryland Watermen’s Association. He is an active member and voice within many associations and boards that promote a healthier Chesapeake Bay and United States fisheries and harvesting.
Contributing Writer Ed Kurowski founded Gratitude Yachting Center in 1980, after spending several summers in Rock Hall aboard his Herreshoff 28 Ketch. His enthusiasm for yachting and the Chesapeake Bay aboard comfortable cruising boats led him into a twenty-plus year association with Island Packet Yachts. During this association Ed has sailed Island Packet Yachts over approximately 40,000 sea miles to include a dozen trips to Bermuda, a transatlantic to Ireland on an Island Packet 29, several Caribbean 1500′s, a week’s visit to Havana, Cuba and many miles in the Bahamas. His vast sailing experience translates into a cruising oriented approach and ability to provide comfort and education to those wanting to enjoy the water.
